Our Story.

When my son was seven years old, we were told by a nutritionist that he should be on a gluten-free and dairy-free diet.  One thing my seven-year old enjoyed was his food.  As a family we all enjoyed lots of healthy foods, pastas, pizzas and desserts filled with gluten and dairy. But these were the very foods our son needed to avoid. My husband ran out and bought gluten-free cookbooks with recipes which were surprisingly good! That was the easy part. 

Preparing and serving the right food to the right child proved to be more difficult.

Often times I would be at the stove cooking both a gluten-free pasta and regular pasta.  I would mix up the spoons, cross contaminating the pasta.  I would have to trash the pasta.  Okay, I thought. I will solve the problem by buying colored spoons. That didn't work at all.  No one else knew my system.  My well-meaning husband would come in to help with dinner and mix up the spoons.  My son's dinner in the trash again.  This happened endlessly, between my own kids, grandmas, and company, all trying to help with meals and dinner in the trash.

That's when I developed The Food Allergy Kitchenware. I wanted simple. Solid stainless steel, dishwasher safe, and clearly marked.  No more mix ups, no more cross contamination.
